Summer is here and we know a lot of you are dealing with summer shipping (just like we are!)
Here are a few tips that have worked with us in our candle business (check out Smell of Love Candles) and the ones that we're currently using for our SLC Supplies family:
- Ship candles Monday through Wednesday
- Trucks don't move on the weekends so the best chances of your candles arriving to your customers before they sit in hot trucks or unconditioned warehouses, is to ship them Monday through Wednesday. This gives your candles the best probability of arriving to their destinations before the weekend.
- Use cool shield wrap
- Several vendors have cool shield wraps which is basically an insulated silver bubble wrap that protects your candles. They sell these as rolls or bags. We suggest using this to line your candles so that in the worst case scenario that there are shipping delays or your candles get delivered but not brought inside fast enough, you can prevent melting to a certain degree.
- Use ice packs
- There are several vendors that sell disposable ice packs that you can also use to keep your candles cool during transport. We suggest making sure that your candles are protected so that the condensation doesn't damage your labels or allow water to get inside your candles.
